Loving the Lion, Your Weekly Forecast 7/20-726

Updated: Jul 22, 2020

Happy Monday everyone! Peace and blessings as we dive into a new vibration of energy!

Starting Wednesday, it is officially Leo season. Happy Birthday to all my Leo’s babes, I love you.

For those of you who don't already know, I am a Leo, born on August 18th, 1989.

The Strength card is ruled by Leo in the Tarot, and in the Smith-Rider-Waite deck is ruled by the number 8. Leo is the fixed fire sign of the Zodiac, ruled by the Sun, and ruling the 5th house. Leo in medical astrology rules the heart and spine.

Leo season is obviously my favorite time of year, as Leo’s are known to enjoy basking in the rays of themselves and partying for the entire month! I have a lot of Leo’s in my family as well, which means that someone's birthday is typically happening every damn week of Leo season, so you best believe this time of year was a lot of parties and BBQ’s for me when I was growing up. Makes sense why I am so fond of this time of year!

I do feel that while we Leo’s tend to be obvious showboats to the rest of the world, we are often deeply misunderstood for that reason. People don’t really always get who we are under the surface, and we often get mistaken for self centered or egotistical. While that may be true for us in the early part of our lives, it stems from a deeper need to be loved in a genuine way, but also to share the love we often feel we have to give.

Leo wants to create a fun, sexy, romantic, playful and positive atmosphere for everyone to feel that love. Leo loves to share. But when Leo shares and does not feel that love or positivity in return, Leo becomes cold, distant, and retreats, which often looks self focused to those who perceive Leo as self centered, but it has more to do with a need for things to be reciprocated, than actually being selfish. Leo gets offended quite easily, and the biggest lesson for Leo is realizing that not everyone wants to bask in the rays of the Sun, and not everyone's version of the Sun, is the version that Leo is portraying.

If your Sun, Moon, or Rising sign is in Leo, the Leo archetype is working dominantly in your life. Chances are you need a lot of validation in ways that sometimes can feel over the top. Even if you are a more introverted Leo, the attention that the people you value in life give to you is incredibly important.

Because I am a Leo, I thought it would be fun to offer a quick guide on how to love your Leo friend or partner, so here it is!

10 ways to love your favorite Leo:

  1. Compliment their talents! Leo loves to be “seen” for what they are proud of in life. Compliments go a long way!

  2. Invite them to things! Do you get invited to a lot of things by your Leo friends? If not, it's probably because you don’t invite them to things as well. Leo’s measure of friendship is typically reflected in whether or not the love they give is appreciated, validated, and reciprocated. If you found yourself being included in a lot of activities with your Leo friend, only to later stop receiving invitations, chances are it was because it was not reciprocated. Leo wants to be invited, and Leo also wants to be able to come and go as they please. Invitations are a big one, whether they can make it or not, the act alone goes a long way for Leo.

  3. Gifts that show them you pay attention to their interests. Leo see’s being seen as the ultimate compliment. When you show that you pay attention to their likes and interests by giving them something that is in line with who they feel they are on a deeper level, it shows them that you are a true friend.

  4. Loyalty! This one is everything to Leo. Leo can be a ride or die friend, but they can also cut you off as fast as they welcomed you in. Loyalty in friendship means everything to Leo, and sometimes that can be a bit brutal. If you become friends with Leo’s enemy, or date one of their exes, chances are you will be low key cut off as a long term, or inner circle friend.

  5. Likes/Follows on social media. It’s trivial but true. Leo’s want attention, in all forms, even if we act like we are above it. When people support what we do on social media with likes/comments/follows, it feeds our internal need for approval from those we care about. Coming to our parties/events is another way to fan that flame.

  6. Say I love you!  Leo loves love and loves to spread it. If you have reached “I love you” status with a Leo, it is one of the biggest compliments a Leo can give, as it is what Leo values the most, besides a good hair day.

  7. Respect their boundaries. While Leo sometimes seems like a sign that is always down to party, and loves spending time with friends, Leo’s also have a lot of personal boundaries that are imperative for them to have in order to recharge. When a Leo says “no,” they mean it, and are rarely willing to budge once that decision has been made.

  8. Don’t constantly blame everything they do on being Leo. While Leo’s often have pride about being Leo, not all Leo’s are created equal. Making jokes about them being self centered occasionally can be fun, but if it becomes a habitual joke, they will begin to feel unseen for the genuine love they are holding for others. While Leo can laugh at themselves, they also need to be shown where they are valued just as much.

  9. Honesty and integrity. While Leo loves glitz, glam, and showing off, Leo values honesty and integrity above all else.

  10. Throw them a party! If you have listened to anything I have said so far, then it is probably obvious, Leo loves a good time and being valued for who they are. Surprise parties are a sure way into any Leo’s heart, especially if everyone they truly love shows up!

So there you have it folks. A short but straightforward guide on how to love your favorite Leo! We are a fun bunch, but we can be high maintenance friends to have. So to all of you out there who make time for us and love us, Thank you! We know we are diva’s!

Moon void of course opposition Saturn Rx in Capricorn 10:55 am

Moon enters Leo 1:16 pm

Sun in Cancer opposition Saturn Rx in Capricorn 3:26 pm

New Moon’s are a time for rejuvenation, and setting intentions for areas in life that demand renewal. We start this week out with a New Moon in Cancer. Both Monday and the sign of Cancer are ruled by the Moon. Today carries a perfect frequency for magick and intentional self care.

In Magick, everyday is ruled by a planet, and every hour is ruled by a planet. This breaks down into what are known as planetary hours. This enables us to find appropriate times to cast spells or perform rituals. For this New Moon in Pacific time, it is at 10:33 am. 10 am on Monday is ruled by Jupiter. This is a great time for setting intentions around what you hope to gain in this next chapter, and how you wish to grow when it comes to ancestral and karmic healing.

With the New Moon and our Sun making an opposition to Saturn in Capricorn, this need for ancestral and karmic healing is overly emphasized. Saturn has a strong connection to our relationship with our father, but can also be attributed to the Mother at times, depending on which system you use. Cancer is most often tied to Mother. We can say that regardless of which parent is emphasized for you on a personal level, this energy is asking of you to heal a karmic relationship that is familial for you at this time. When we discuss “ancestral karma” this can go further back to what we have energetically inherited from our grandparents, whether we knew them or not. This is also a frequency that we are working through during this time. As a society, we carry the wisdom and ignorance of those who walked this Earth before us. We are often born with a sense of duty or obligation to either fulfill the family legacy, to break it, or to define it, depending on who we are in this life.

As you think about your life, and where you come from, ask yourself what ancestral lineage you are a part of, and what your relationship to your “roots” defines you in healthy, as well as unhealthy ways. Set an intention around what you wish to heal when it comes to your relationship with family, your roots, and the family you may be building in your life now. This is a time for reflection, renewal, and active self care. What identity do you hold that you wish to expand upon in this next chapter of life?

 Moon in Leo

Moon trine Chiron Rx in Aries 5:35 am

Moon square Uranus in Taurus 7:22 am

Mercury in Cancer square Chiron Rx in Aries 8:31 am

Moon trine Mars in Aries 12:23 pm

Moon void of course sextile Venus in Gemini 5:27 pm

Mercury, our planet of communication, makes a hard aspect to Chiron, our healer, while our Moon is in the fixed fire sign of Leo. This can cause us to have difficulty when it comes to self confidence and perception of self. We may feel irritable or tense, and we could easily take things the wrong way if we are unable to separate how we feel from what is really going on. We may need to work extra hard at self love today by saying positive affirmations about ourselves and others.

Typically, when we feel frustrated or irritable, it is a combination of fire and air energy building up or getting stuck in the body. The way that we transmute this is through working heat through the body in various forms of exercise. I often in this blog have mentioned Kundalini Yoga being a good way to channel anger, irritability or frustration, but you could also go for a hike, run, bike ride, or do any other kind of activity that gets heat moving through your physical body. Often when we release this stagnant energy, we are able to see more clearly where we were getting “stuck” within the self. There is nothing wrong with feeling angry, frustrated, or having a day where you just need to be mad. But we do not want to live there, and it is not healthy for the body to hold onto this energy. It typically means we need to do something that gets it moving through us in a productive way. People who are wired with a lot of this energy astrologically ( which is often a heavy Mars placement, as well as a lot of fire and air energy) need to have a lot of creative and physical outlets!

If moving the physical body isn’t something you can do due to life circumstances, screaming into or punching a pillow, competitive board games, playing video games that get the need for aggression out, rocking out to heavy metal, going for a drive, or breathing exercises (pranayama yoga) are also great ways for release!

Moon in Leo

Moon inconjunct Neptune Rx in Pisces 12:59 am

Sun enters Leo 1:37 am

Moon inconjunct Jupiter Rx in Capricorn 1:57 am

Moon inconjunct Pluto Rx in Capricorn 5:48 am

Mercury in Cancer sextile Uranus in Taurus 1:25 pm

Moon in Leo inconjunct Saturn Rx in Capricorn 2:08

Moon enters Virgo 4:40 pm

It is officially Leo season! I personally have had Saturn, Jupiter and Pluto inconjunct my Sun for the majority of the year, and let me tell you, it's not a fun energy to be under. We are experiencing that flavor today, when our Moon in Leo is inconjunct with Jupiter and Pluto in the early morning hours and later in the afternoon makes the same aspect to Saturn. Luckily it's a quick transit, but it challenges our stability and emotional security. We may feel ungrounded today within our emotional world, and it could challenge our sense of self worth. Leo tends to need a lot of outside validation and recognition, so if you find yourself “fishing” for compliments or approval, try to tone it down a notch.

Mercury in Cancer makes a harmonious aspect to Uranus in Taurus today. We may experience breakthroughs in areas that we perceived as being blocked. New or unexpected news/information could present itself today, which may be a game changer.

With our Moon entering Virgo in the early evening hours, we may begin to feel more grounded into the evening. Being productive when it comes to work or mundane tasks is beneficial for grounding any energy that feels overly sensitive.

Thursday 7/23

Moon in Virgo

Moon inconjunct Chiron Rx in Aries 8:26 am

Moon trine Uranus in Taurus 10:16 am

Moon sextile Mercury in Cancer 11:47 am

Moon inconjunct Mars in Aries 4:55 pm

Moon square Venus in Gemini 10:46 pm

Our Moon in Virgo today in the waxing crescent phase is a good time to be productive. We benefit from chipping away at goals and our to-do’s, or at least making an organized plan for what we need to accomplish in the days ahead.

We could feel some tension in the evening around having the motivation to be productive, but if we feed too much into this, it could cause us to have some anxiety later on. Do yourself a favor and get the important things done, so that you can feel at peace when you lay your head down for the night.

Friday 7/24

Moon in Virgo

Moon opposition Neptune Rx in Pisces 3:23 am

Moon trine Jupiter Rx in Capricorn 3:57 am

Moon trine Pluto Rx in Capricorn 8:05 am

Moon void of course trine Saturn Rx in Capricorn 4:08 pm

Moon enters Libra 6:54 pm

Moon sextile Sun in Leo 11:33 pm

This is a great day for productivity and getting things done. We may feel motivated in the early morning hours to chip away at goals and get ourselves squared away before the weekend hits.

Treat your body well today and take a practical approach to tasks at hand.

Saturday 7/25

Moon in Libra

Moon opposition Chiron Rx in Aries 10:31 am

Moon inconjunct Uranus in Taurus 12:28 pm

Moon square Mercury in Cancer 6:11 pm

Moon opposition Mars in Aries 8:50 pm

Internal tension could be likely today with our Moon making some hard aspects to Chiron, Uranus, Mercury and Mars. We may feel resistant towards doing things we don’t feel like doing. We could feel like our needs are not getting met at various points throughout the day, and the way we perceive ourselves could be a bit skewed. We benefit from taking breaks and detaching when we begin to feel overwhelmed or frustrated with anything we are facing. This is not a good day to try and control everything going on. We benefit from letting go of any need for assertion or control, and taking a more light hearted approach to things.

Sunday 7/26

Moon in Libra

Moon trine Venus in Gemini 3:45 am

Moon inconjunct Neptune Rx in Pisces 5:29 am

Moon square Jupiter Rx in Capricorn 5:41 am

Moon square Pluto Rx in Capricorn 10:12 am

Moon void of course square Saturn Rx in Capricorn 6:09 pm

Moon enters Scorpio 9:12 pm

With the Moon in Libra, we benefit from retreating inward and doing something that feeds our need for intellectual pursuits. I always want to read or educate myself further when the Moon is in Libra, so this may be a good time to work on finishing that book you started, or maybe start the book you bought last month! (I have way too many books I need to finish/start.) We may feel unmotivated and uninspired today.Typically when we are feeling like the well creative well is dry, it helps us to redirect into learning something new. We can think of the energy of the Page of Swords as a good energy to tap into today.

Love, Peace, and Power!
